from the rocker/crank breather that loops over from the rocker to the back of the head.
i would check what oil your running,if the oil is the correct grade/level it could be the rings are worn or the valve stem seals.

Re: unclipped drivers seat discovered oil around engine
Thanks to all for their input, now for an update
have found the hose still connected to the vacuum solenoid? the hose was hidden behind wiring harness`s and pipes, the hose end to the intercooler spigot even had a clip on it, have now connected the hose but have not roadtested the vehicle because of my radiator problem & possible airlock(see my rad post)
There may be another factor to take into account as to why the vacuum hose was disconnected from the intercooler spigot, in the divers cab mounted beneath the ciggerette lighter is a 4"x4"x1" aluminium box with on/of button & 2 other control buttons it says on the device Multi Speed Turbo Timer by Putz/plitz, can`t actually decipher that word correctly as its faded, the rest of the information states it to be an electronic tuning sytem, the previous owner did not know its purpose & never switched it on as there was no handbook explaining how to fly it, being a little more adventureous when the engine was running I switched it on and all sorts of digital readout information came up on the device, quickly switched it off.
Anyone know what this device is/does - could it have any relevance to the disconnected vacuum pipe. Regards Bob

no its a turbo timer, this allows the engine to continue running after the ignition is switched off,to let the turbo cool down, the various settings on it are (times) that the engine will continue on after ignition off.
usuall reason for removing the pump pipe is to allow work on the engine without it breaking off.
just a precaution really.
