airbag sensor/removing drivers seat
just taking driver seat out to take to upholsterer and found an electrical connector. i think i read recently it may be to do with airbag. i need to disconnect but i'm wary of setting bag off ! - is it airbag related and if so are there precautions i should take or am i ok to disconnect?

Re: airbag sensor/removing drivers seat
Seatbelt warning light, not sure it's got anything to do with airbag TBH. Unless yours is fitted with an ejector seat?

You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

Re: airbag sensor/removing drivers seat
and i only confessed, before you posted it up,

Re: airbag sensor/removing drivers seat
your safe its not connected to the airbag system, but i know what you mean most other cars sense the removl and deactivate the system, thats because most UK cars have anti-submarine doodahs in the seatbelt sensor, which is part of the airbag/restraint system

Anyone had the seatbelt clasp housing apart??
Looks like some sort of special screw head on the 2 screws holding the casing together..?
I have an inconsistent connection where the wire for this goes into the buckle clasp...
(The only thing electrical not happening!)
The wire runs sort of diagonal under the seat & runner to the just behind the bolt for the clasp at the side of the seat, so 16 years of the buckle movement swinging from 90 to 45 degrees (Aprox.) of adjustment has chaffed or broke the wire.!?

Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...
