Random slowing down
Has any one else had what i could only discribe a random lack off power and slowing and not wanting to kick down?. Just came home from a camping trip, did about 80k driving a long wat i think was a flat road it came apparent i could not increase speed foot flat on the floor nothin happened no increase of speed or reves but not overly slowing down at the same time. stopped at next layby got out checked the basics nothing showing. got back in carried on too find shortly it was back too be working fine.. and was fine the other 100+k home.

Check out the breather on the fuel filler cap, could also be something sucking up onto the fuel pick up in the fuel tank, could have been a plastic bag or something sucked into the air intake? Were there any warning lights lit or flashing?

no lights on the dash. its a 25td auto 4wd had the head done few months back temp gauges has never moved from wat i have marked as a normal temp as well.
Would a fuel breather problem fix its self?

Fuel breather would probably not fix itself, but anything's possible.
Re the temp gauge, has it been modified at all, ie with a mason alarm or any other temperature or coolant level monitoring fitted? The standard temp gauge is dumbed down to get up to temp (usually at around 11 o clockish on the gauge) by @55 degrees, then it'll sit there until well over 100 degrees before it moves once the thing is already overheating. Not that this would have had any effect on the power problem that i can see, just a heads up.

have a listen to the lower driverside door, is there a ticking sound,if yes its the fuel filter, the ticking is the spring/valve opening in the filter to bypass the blocked or restricted filter element.
if its aged unknown and your running on your own blend of fuel it may be an idea to replace it anyway.
if its not that, it could be the thimble filter in the top of the pump.
do a search on the forum for banjo filter, lots will come up.

did not notice any clicking noises.
Nice info about the temp gauge did not know that i just marked the dials lol its got no alarms at all was too hot to check then but water level is ok having checked it now anyway.
