adaptor in the passenger footwell

Post by petenbex » Thu Jul 28, 2011 2:24 pm

Hi there, I hope this isn't a stupid question (or one that has been answered many times before). I'm not much of an auto electrician but I'm trying to clear out some of the dead wiring behind the dash before I fit a new head unit.

I've found this adapter just hanging down in the passenger foot well and can't seem to see what it is or what it's for.

The last one shows where it's connected to.

Many thanks

Pete.

The last picture just looks like it's been earthed to me - WT? it is beats, me as I can't see whether it is 4 sockets or what it is.

What are the sockets like?

Nothing I have seen before either, can you follow it back and see what it connects to ? But whatever it is its unlikely to be of use in this country! I know I pulled out a load of aerial wiring and GPS connectors and the like under my passenger side, several aerial cables ran over to the offside as well, none of them any use for anything.

As Scanner said, doesn't look like it's connected to anything but earth, so it'll be fine to disconnect, whatever it is :?

Perhaps it is just that, some sort of multiple earth connector for several gadgets.
