Post by aitch » Thu Jul 28, 2011 8:26 pm

Got in the Bongo and the front carpets are soaking wet looks like the front heater matrix has sprung a leak #-o #-o

where can I get one and at what price???

how easy or hard are they to fit???

how do I check this is what is wrong as I don't want to start her up as all the alarms are sounding when I turn her on
I haven't done a search yet as I have been on shift at work for 24 hours and am shattered so cannot look closely until Saturday

any advice or help please

The person to advise you here (on difficulty of removal/refitting) is Helen. She has done this job and will probably come up with some usefull stuff. She may even have some pics if you ask her nicely. :D

These may help Aitch -

http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... atrix+leak
May be easier to bypass it for now, just make sure it's bled properly obviously.
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

Don't drive it until it's sorted as it's part of the cooling system.
Looks like Bongobits site is down, AVA & Bongo shop not got em listed. Bellhill or Allans may be able to help, or any mazda dealer should be able to get hold of one for you, but it may take a few weeks. You should be able to get one from a breaker, but then it may not last very long if it's already had a hard life.

Allans has got a new one in stock but I know they are not what I would call cheap. I have also just found a used one on ebay, but I have no idea what its like.

Where on the rad is the leak ? there are companies that can refirb a rad at a fraction of the cost of a new unit and if you get a length of copper pipe you can use it to bypass the rad whilst its away being refirbed thus enabling you to use the bongo if you need to

maybe some one like this
