Anybody recognise this?

Post by nybongo » Mon Aug 01, 2011 7:49 pm

My wife is in Kent (Sutton) tonight, catching a ferry in the morning. She found this under the bonnet not attached to anything. Does anybody know what it is and whether its important?

from somewhere between the starter battery and air box (central plastic box?)
cheers,

It sits in front of the battery and seems to act as a baffle for the air intake. Sorry, don't have a picture to hand.

Thanks for that. Any idea how its supposed to be attached or whether its required?

She reckons it goes here, which would tie with what you say.

Yup here is a photo;

I think it helps keep water from coming thru the front grill and splashing across the battery and its terminals. Not sure how its fixed, but those two holes are suggestive!

The 2 holes attach to the heater air intake ducting via plastic scrivets, I usually poke the battery end between the battery & the clamp upright.

You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.
