Bongo windscreens

Post by spad112 » Fri Aug 05, 2011 8:26 am

Hello everybody.
Unfortunately I have discovered a crack in my windscreen.Speaking to auto glass they say it may be tinted
Either Green,Brown or grey ?????
Tried to check it but my eyesight is not to good for thses things.
Is there a standard windscreen type ? or how can I be sure what one it is ?

I was asked the same question when some scrote kicked in the rear quarterlight on our Suzuki Swift....I couldn't tell...they said slide a sheet of white paper partway down & behind one of the side windows and see if you can see the tint.... :D still couldn't tell...they then said we have only one type of tint in stock at the moment...I said bring whatever you have got...it's got to be better than the cardboard/plastic sheet & duct tape that's there at the moment.... ...good job well done and still can't see any difference.....
Bongo tint may be related to the vin No. but too technical for me to give advice....

Good Luck

Alan

PS....the fitter told me how much it cost...£340 in total for a very small bit of glass.. thank God for windscreen cover... [-o<
Alan...still plodding on....!

I solved the problem by winding a window down and looking at the edge of the glass. It looked green.

Mind you, most glass looks green along the edge!

I figured if it was brown it would have looked brown, like a beer bottle.

Go with green and help save the jolly old planet.
