HELP HELP HELP

Post by dandemann8 » Sat Aug 13, 2011 5:04 pm

As it was a nice afternoon I decided to change the oil and oil filter with my new Pela pump but stupidly I've pumped out the ATF by mistake

Now I haven't a clue what to do  what do I need and how do I put this right :?:

I'm now going to crawl in a corner and cry  and wait for the answer please :?:

While you've pumped it out, you may as well drop the gearbox sump & clean the filter  - http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... =3&t=30096 however much you've taken out, you need to put back in, Dexron III, could be anything between 4.5 & 7 litres. Refill down the DIPSTICK hole
If you can't get out to get any ATF fluid, then if it's clean, you may be able to reuse, I'd at least filter it, but it'd be better to get new in there.

Too slow

You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

Put a label on the dipstick saying "gearbox oil"?
Check the level cold it should be above the top mark, then check it as the engine warms up, range through the gears to make sure it's everywhere it should be & check again.
