Transit wheel arch question.....

Post by Aunt Trumpet » Wed Aug 24, 2011 7:45 pm

I've tried a couple of searches on here but can't find the answer I'm looking for so I'll ask the question.

It seems that it's generally acepted that the MK6 Transit arch is a good replacement for the Bongo one but why is this? Is it because the actual radius of the arch is very similar? The reason I ask is because I have seen some plastic MK6 arch covers (generally seen on the Tourneo version I guess) for sale, and wondered if they would be a decent fit for the Bongo?

As the Bongo arches are like gold dust, would these be a viable option, even with a bit of fettling?

Or am I barking up the wrong tree?....again. :?

Have a look at this topic to see what you think. I am more than happy with the finished result.

Thanks, thats interesting and a good fit by the looks of it and something I may need to do in the future.

Did the actual arch radius need to be reshaped to fit or was that ok?

The arch was the same radius just neede an extra piece in to lengthen it so the bumper fits properly which i think you may get away with if your not that fussy.
