Pink paint & red filter.

Post by jaylee » Sat Aug 27, 2011 7:04 pm

Been renewing my fuel hoses on the van & discovered pink paint on the joins...

Image

Is this some kind of Japanese service thing? (4 year fuel hose change thing.?)

Also, as i had to take the top of the air filter housing to get at the fuel pipes....

I know its a bit dirty!

Is this a K&N..??

Nothing appears to be written on it, but if it is..? All i would need is a filter cleaning kit...

Probably an inspection mark, done in the factory to show that the clamp has been checked.

If there's a metal mesh over the filter element then it could be a K&N filter. I'll have a look at mine tomorrow to see if there's any markings on it.

Our K&N filter's purple & stamped, but I don't know if they all are. The marks on the pipes are often seen on Bongos, Pajeros, Delicas etc, which suggests it may be a 'service/checked/replaced' mark.

Just discovered it's not a K&N... Though there is nothing written on the filter, i think i have found a match!! http://www.sdn4x4.co.uk/mazda-bongo-2-5 ... 2600-p.asp

I think there is a "K&N" stamp and serial number on each moulded rubber end Jamie...

Thanks for the info Ste.. Definitely nothing stamped on the end of mine. I would have expected a white logo stamp or something?? I'm not that familiar with their products.. As said earlier a cleaning kit would be on the cards if it was...

I think it's definitely time i got a new air filter...! :D

From memory Jamie... each moulded black rubber edge had the K&N logo plus the filter number embossed in the rubber.

Just checked mine & it does indeed have K&N logo moulded into the rubber end pieces.

Anyone happen to know if they do one to fit a V6?
