Post by longhaul8 » Mon Aug 29, 2011 2:46 pm

While having a poke around in the bongo i went to remover the 2 switch blanks that are under the steering wheel to the right just above the fuse box. one of them has wires connected at the rear what are they for ?

It's where the loom for the twin battery bongo is plugged into to keep the cabling tidy, and plug out of the way on single battery bongo's... Mine was plugged in to the same place. I used mine to power my front fogs.

I think i had to re-position one of the plugs in the socket, but oddly never even had to add a fuse as there was one already installed longhaul  In a circuit that (i would have thought) was dead as my bongo never had the twin battery set up :?

I don't know if you can tell from the piccy... But i used a "clicky" foglight switched (kindly sourced from Vanvliet) In the same hole as the switch for the twin battery set up would have lived (formerly a blank on my bongo) Next to the "rear" Heaters switch.

as far as i know mine never had twin batterys either. yep i got one blank and the one with the wires there. i was looking at fitting a proper mazda switch in one off them for my rear fog light. that is how i found the other has the wires.

Don't have a rear heater switch down there mine is in the digi heater pannel.

That could be the same switch Longhaul! Is it a toggle switch or a spring switch?
