Stopping key in ignition beeps

Post by Mickymouse » Sun Aug 28, 2011 3:21 pm

Hi All
I read the tip about stopping the beeps when the ignition key is inserted and a door open.
But after removing the three screws in the cowling under the steering wheel I found that it was attached to the top piece and therefore could not be removed!
I have looked in Lush Projects and it is shown as two seperate bits.I am loathe to use brute force to try and seperate the two halves.
Any ideas?
Thanks

You don't need to remove the entire cowling at all, just the grey flap underneath (two screws) to reach the area, its tight but you will see the little white plug/socket which needs to be separated.

If you should need to remove the cowl? Lower/drop the steering wheel, tighten the wheel angle latch again, grab the top of the hole where the stalks for the indicator & wipers are, then give a yank up! It will come apart...
Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...

Thanks for all your advice.
I have now done the job,no beeps with key in! :D
Found it much easier to do by removing the cowling first.
Thanks again
