Re: Sidmouth meet will be on 2nd October
Just phoned the campsite to sort out my booking and all is confusion. Three phone calls this morning from different people but no group booking.
They are filling up rapidly due to the good weather and can do the group but need to know quickly. I have booked and paid for the Saturday night at normal rate, but they are holding the payment so the whole booking can be sorted out.
I intend to stay the Saturday night and probably the Friday as well, to make a long weekend of it.
If the group is not sorted out today I will confirm anyway, but it would be good to be with everybody.

We haven't made a final decision yet, but we are likely to be staying on Saturday night if we do come up as it's a long way for just a day trip.

Why not ask the Donkey Sanctuary if it's ok to park up for the night in the car park if you're self contained? (especially if you bung a few quid in their collection boxes)
May be there for the day meet on sunday - see how things go.

You may have saved the week end, i'll call them first thing. The caravan sites can not or will not accommadate the number of Bongo's [once I have explained what a Bongo is] and if they can put us up they want payment in advance.
So lets hope your idea works Kersty

Oakdown had six spaces this morning so probably worth phoning them individually but you will have to pay over the phone. I could do self contained for a night but I would prefer a campsite, so I am sticking with my booking.
The last minute good weather has put the pressure on, as there are a lot of peeps looking for a last weekend away but a lot of sites are partialy or totally shut down.

SORRY FOLKS THE DONKEY SANCTURY IS A NO NO FOR THE MEET as well as staying the night there.
THEY HAVE JUST INFORMED ME THAT THEY HAVE OVER 450 YES 450 PEOPLE ATTENDING A MEMORIAL DAY ON SUNDAY.
SO NO CHANCE OF A MEET THERE
So is tere anyone local that could help us to find a venue asap.
If you haven't book anywhere to stay please do so asap if you still want a meet

I have a booking at Oakdown for Friday and Saturday so I will be there anyway. Worse places to be for a hot weekend
If anyone else has booked or if any meet goes ahead it would be nice to make contact.

I don't know Sidmouth well, it says the carpark is about 10 minutes from the beach.
