Re: Hose fact sheet
Me, mostly. Why?
(Edit: actually the original was done by Matthew in Sept 2010, based on info here on the Forum and elsewhere, but latest amendment, which incorporated a couple of Steve's useful schematics, was done by me)

Re: Hose fact sheet
Hi Ian
The schematics are CURRENTLY being modified. Errors pointed out to me very recently which I am rectifying.
Factsheet also omits certain hoses which I have addressed. If we are going to have one, then let's get it right.
When I originally posted those sketches, I asked for someone to step up and check them for me. Never happened, and as a result we finished up with some errors. Not going to happen again.

Ok Steve, no problem. If I email you the master template of the factsheet (Word copy) will you make the required amendments and send it back?

No problem Ian, but I would like it checking before publishing. Let's get it absolutely right.Ian wrote:Ok Steve, no problem. If I email you the master template of the factsheet (Word copy) will you make the required amendments and send it back?
Who do you think is the best person for the checking job?

Re: Hose fact sheet
The issue of quality reviewing the factsheet series has been raised before, and now's as good a time as any to take it forward. So I've stated a new topic at http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... =4&t=51919

Re: Hose fact sheet
First of all - apologies for previous errors. Totally my fault for not having them checked.
A comprehensive coolant hose and fact sheet has now been produced which lists the hoses, steel pipes, and steel clips.
It includes all the Mazda part variants of hoses which relate to specific year of production of the vehicle.
The sheet provides links to related associated cooling system issues such as coolant changes, coolant type, bleeding method, low coolant alarms, etc.
This version is currently being checked (for the umpteenth time) and will be issued as soon as possible.
It uses marked-up Lush project diagrams (6 in all including a table) as a basis for members who are familiar with them, as per the following diagram:

Many thanks to those involved in checking these. Would not have happened without them.
Because I was asked, a separate (and simplified) version has also been produced based on the following diagram (5 in all including a table):

Both versions include this table of parts:

How different is the pipework for the V6?

Not too sure but I'm sure the vast majority of it will be common. When I get a spare moment I'll run a check (unless someone else has some spare time on their hands)TerryG wrote:Fantastic stuff!

edit: just done a VERY quick search. Some are different, particularly around the thermostat area. However, I think the 'comprehensive' factsheet may cover it (although the diagrams are slightly different.)
I was rather hoping I had seen the back of this but I may need to create one for the V6.

Just been pointed out to me by a razor sharp eye that the Lush diagram above should have been this one. Only a minor difference - can you spot it?

But think of the gratitude of we V6-ers - surely a reward in itself

Re: Hose fact sheet
Not sure, but I would guess that the main hoses are the same. I would expect differences to occur leading up to, and around the thermostat area. Don't know if the heater layout is the same either.maxi_77 wrote:Some of us are stuck with 2 litre Bongos how do they compare to the diesel/V6 versions. Thanks
I was going to have a go at the V6/2 litre models, but it has been quite rightly pointed out to me (having a diesel myself) that unless you are familiar with the petrol layouts, the chances of getting it right are low. Someone else needs to pick the baton up at this point I'm afraid - sorry.

Re: Hose fact sheet
Have a look on lushprojects, should give you an idea, It looks to me like more than half are the same from what I've seen before, it's the bits "local" to the engine that seem to be different. The heater layout should be the same as on the heater circuit on Lush it gives options for the hoses that connect from circuit to the engine for the 2litre & 2.5v6.maxi_77 wrote:Some of us are stuck with 2 litre Bongos how do they compare to the diesel/V6 versions.
