Starter Solenoid Contacts - Anyone know a quick fix?

Post by Manxda » Tue Sep 27, 2011 5:52 pm

Just to get me home.

The little darling packed up on the the main shopping street. Just need it to start one more time and I promise to fix it, honest!

It's been playing up for a few weeks now and I thought it was a dodgy sensor on gear shift/brake because when you wiggled/stomped (you work out which I was doing to what) it started. Just read on the forum today that it is probably the starter solenoid contacts. Tried to have a go at getting to it, but I'm parked outside the newsagents, where the pavement's not very wide and it was a bit busy. One way street, so drivers side is next to the pavement.

I've been in a 2 hour parking zone since 11 this morning, so I guess I'm pushing it a bit.

Any ideas, anyone?

You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

but you might be able to raise it a bit with a bit of packing

such as the card fag papers come in under it
