Dashboard gear selector lights

Post by Darkstar » Tue Oct 11, 2011 8:04 pm

Hi All,

My "D" indicator light on the dashboard binacle does not light up, to be honest i had'nt noticed it not working until tonight as it was dark and had my lights on, now i assume it does light up when driving with lights on? as all the other do,
anyway before i go and rip the speedo binacle out this weekend, and find out i dont have a spare, can someone enlighten me to the size of bulb i will be requiring to rectify.

Many thanks in advance

Only on later models I think? I haven't got it on my 95.
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

I think they're standard 1.2w dashboard type bulbs. Readily available from any auto store / factors. Short term, you may find you could take one of the others which you don't really need, such as seat belt warning, or take the bulb out from 'S' position and move it to 'D'.

I think they're only fitted to the newer models from about 1999 (ish) / 2000 onwards.

the bulbs are 286 push in types, and drive selector is featured in 98- Julian
