What to do in felixstowe ?

If you are going away somewhere and don't mind meeting up with other Bongo owners or if you've been somewhere & want to tell us about it & stick up your photos, put the details here.

Thats not the answer i was lookin for  tho tbh we quite enjoy windy winter walks on the beach we do an annual pilgrimage to Hunstanton the weekend after new years day, cook up a nice chilly the day before and heat it up when we get there with some crusty bread then go for a nice bracing walk for the afternoon then return to basecamp Bongo get the kettle on in the back of the bongo for some much needed hot chocolate before heading home  what else is there in the F,stowe area ?

Hi,

You could try Woodbridge and Rendlesham forest UFO trail. If you have bikes there a great bike course there for the kids.

You can always try and collect a container or nip up the ro ro end for a trailer. sorry to say the cafe is closed at the weekends so stock the bongo up.

How old are your kids? I used to live in Ipswich and have 4 kids
1 - felixstowe Ferry
2- Ipswich
3 - Shingle St - no shops but sometimes seals there and can look for carnelian and and amber
4 - Colchester Zoo
3 Framlingham castle
will think some more

Take them to the Port of Felixstowe viewing area and have a picnic and watch the big ships go by. Or have some food from the Crows Nest there.

Then you can take them to Landguard Fort an historic Napoleonic defence and on certain days the museum is open next door.

The pier amusements are open every day and then you can have a nice ice cream & hot chocolate or coffee across the way or walk down the road and have lunch at the Alex.

Plenty of bracing walks along the prom too

If you have the time then drive down to Felixstowe Ferry and have some lovely grub at the cafe there.

Sadly the main drag in town is mostly coffee shops & charity shops

But I live here and I love the town.
