I did the Tourmalet the hard way
If it was you and I can't think of many UK registered Bongo's being in the same place at the same time, then I saw you as we were riding up to Chambasque ski station and then onto the waterfalls here for a coffee, which was Sunday 11th Sept, small world
Our Tourmalet loop, we we're staying in Barages
Apart from doing the Tourmalet, we also did the Hautacam & Luz Ardiden, Tourmalet being the hardest, Luz being the best downhill and fabulous weather all week

Up and down around Cauterets regularly as we have a little house there. Not usually in the Bongo though but we'd been into Switzerland and then back down home to Cauterets.
Yes, sad to say we did it the easy way.
Nice place to stay Bareges, glad you got some decent weather for your ride. I've been up there in early September in snow and freezing temperatures.
Have you been over the Col d' Aspin as well and down to St Lary? I think the Tour has a stage up from St Lary to the ski area and back down as well.
Bit whiffy at La Railliere by the falls though due to the sulphur in the spa waters. Marmots go mad whistling as you pass them
When the lift is running from Cauterets in the summer you can take the bikes up to the top and come down the pistes, bloody steep some of them as well.
See any bears? One was killed on the dual carriageway from Lourdes to Argeles a couple of years ago and they seem to be getting closer to civilisation nowadays.

No didn't see any Bears or marmots, but plenty of eagles.
No we didn't ride the Col D'aspin, it was an option as a group ride, but we chickend out, as Rob our guide said it was 75 miles, and the day before we did the Hautacam, good job too as the group ended up doing 90miles, including the Col du Solour. Bit too much even for me.
Instead we did Luz Ardiden on the most perfect day for climbing and descending, but we were very lucky with the weather, as my mates friends were over in June and their trip was very wet.
I'll be back sometime as I still want to do the Aspin, we drove up on our rest day, but the clouds were very low and we turned back at the top of the Solour.
But next years plan is hopefully to go to the Alps and do Alpe D'Huez, Galibier & the Telegraphe, plus Mount Ventoux if possible.
