Advice please - Swapping exhaust and alloys
I recently purchased a 99 2.5TD to replaced my 95 2.5TD (Overheated, suspected head failure and still sitting on my drive). My 95N still has the RX8 alloys, full stainless steel exhaust that I would like to reuse on my 99 before I sell the 95 as Spares or Repair. Clearly I cannot drive the 95 to a garage safely to do the swap so I am contemplating doing the swap myself. I have a standard trolley jack, axle stands and the usual assortment of tools but no specialist stuff.
Any ideas or observations?

Re: Advice please - Swapping exhaust and alloys
Just gotta do it and good luck. I've seen a 2 ton trolley jack collapse raising a Bongo so I now own a 3 ton one. I've dine rear and mid section exhaust changes and both were easy. Interesting post hu Ady the other day about not using stainless steel for front section as it can fatigue fracture. Don't know if your s/s system can be split like that but its a thought.

I bought 2 bottle jacks from Machine Mart not too expensive around £20 each (one 8 & one 10 tonne), Lift the Bongo with no effort.

You also need some axle stands to be on the safe side, trolly jacks can move.

Lookout, Dracula is on the prowl again and about to suck the life blood out of another Bongo.

Re: Advice please - Swapping exhaust and alloys
Just pop in to a local garage and see if some one will pop round and do it for cash I would be tempted to have a good think and look at the old Bongo and see if it could be fixed, if not its a difficult one as often you can sell them for spares but some times it takes months to shift the bits
Has it got an arm rest????

I would not let any old garage mess about underneath my Bongo. Ady's the man for a job like that. If he could make the Allithwaite Easter meet perhaps he could kill two birds with one stone and catch up with Chell later.

Re: Advice please - Swapping exhaust and alloys
Just an update with my wheel and exhaust swap.
What a disappointment Ady turned out to be.
All he managed to do was a full exhaust swap with two different exhaust systems, two wheel sets swap and the only extra bit he managed to squeeze in was the removal and installation of a double din gps/BT system. And he had the cheek of asking for coffees!
Also, I would like to point out that I pretty much did all the spanner passing.
Ady, you are sick. (for those of you who are not down with the lingo, that is a good thing)
Thank you very much for the Ady Experience.
