Rubbish! They just rode the few easy bits available. What I was hoping to see was them decending from the ridge on their bikes down the Clachaig Gulley straight into the bar of the Clachaig Inn. That would have made a great video.

I'm liking the sound of that, I guess that was the Munkeys who did that?MountainGoat wrote:Glencoe last year....

No Muz it was the rest of us that did that. Mr & Mrs Munkey went out on a magical mistery tour in their Bongo and got back very late. Got lost I believe although they strongly denied it.

PS: I hope that you have nothing against killing fishy creatures. The retaining tanks are right next to the resturant and I believe that you can even choose which poor creature you are going have murdered to satisfy your hunger pangs. Being the blood thirsty type (well I do have Scots blood in me) I didn't have a problem with that.

Hmmm, this gets more appealing by the minute. Where exactly is this place?MountainGoat wrote:No Muz it was the rest of us that did that. Mr & Mrs Munkey went out on a magical mistery tour in their Bongo and got back very late. Got lost I believe although they strongly denied it.![]()

Overlooking Loch Leven on the B863 about half way between North Ballachulish and Kinlochleven. That is on the north side of the loch.

I have forgotten to order tarpaulins for the kid's play yurt in time to bring them along this week. If anyone has a clean(ish) tarp or two, would you mind bringing it along to help keep the cherubs dry? Circumference of the yurt is a little >5m, 4 foot high, plus one for the roof.

I've got plenty of dirty blue ones but the only place that I have big enough to clean them is the middle of the road.

Fancy cleaning them yourself in the river that runs through the campsite Matt.
Scrubbing brush provided.
They are piled up in a corner of the garden at the moment.

Just realised that some may not know where the campsite actually is. It is NOT the one in the village. It is near the Clachaig Hotel Instructions taken from their site are below as well as a link to the website
http://www.redsquirrelcampsite.co.uk/map.htm
We are situated near the Old Glencoe Road. About 1 mile off the main A82 which passes through the Glen .You can access A82 either from Glasgow or Edinburgh ( about 2 hours drive ) to the south or Fort William ( 25 minutes drive ) and Inverness( 2 hours drive ) to the north. You can access the Old Glencoe Road taking the first right coming down Glencoe or from Glencoe village.
See you on Friday!

Only Mrs G seems to be up for some walking and aparently only easy low level stuff. Me it depends on the weather (you get fussy as you get older). Its sixteen years since I completed all the munroes (no. 2205) so these days I just poodle about on a Corbett when in the mood. Bound to slow anyone down since I have only climbed one mountain in the past five years and that was Scafell Pike for the upteenth time. You will probably have better luck with another of the newbies.

Re: Red Squirrel 20th-22nd April
Hoping to be there about 8pm, (roads quiet)
I might be up for a wee walk. No mountains though!!!!!!
. Or spend the day at the pub.
Phoned the site today to find out about fishing, I won't be doing any, as it's abit too early in the season. The warden? who answered the phone was delighted I phoned as I reminded him about our forthcoming invasion.
See you all there.
