Really looking forward to this one. Its just such a glorious place. Plus just being able to sit inside a pub on a walk. Tha'ts the problem with a dog always having to sit in the garden. Also they might let me into the Chili festival as well without my familiar

Thinking of bringing our Ozpig, but won't bother if we can't use it.

I'm booking 13 places. We need 10 to get the special rate of £6.00 a night. I am booking from Thursday 2pm 3/5/12 to Monday 12 noon 7/5/12 so you can join me from Thursday onwards for any number of nights. The site closes on the Monday, so you won't be able to extend beyond then. I'm trying to find out whether off-ground BBQs, ozpigs, firepits are allowed. Remember your loo! The ONLY facilities on site are drinking water tap and CDP tank in the ground (with it's own tap). The Castle has it's Chilli Festival that weekend. There's lots of lovely walks up to the Obelisk and beyond to the southern end of the Malverns, including the Worcestershire Way and there's pubs (in the plural) in Ledbury.

I don't know if it's possible to walk to Ledbury other than down the road but certainly it's a market town so there's quite a few pubs. Perhaps we should investigate buses? Walk there, bus back? Mmmm 388 Hereford to Cheltenham but only on Saturdays (Chilli Festival day) and wrong times of the day, not much choice there.crazy uncle gray g wrote:Well done indeed Jill,
Now! plans are afoot, this gaff looks great

I've just looked at the walking directions on Google Maps and it's all roads most of them busy, although it is a circular route - around that wood! 2.6 miles Gray is not back roads, it's the main road.
Ooh look what I found: http://walks.walkingworld.com/Walk/Ledb ... dbury.aspx. We could just use the last part?? Worth joining to get the destructions?

I've found Google Maps doesn't show footpaths for directions, but the OS map shows a footpath from near the church in Eastnor into Ledbury.
