Just got to Troyes, we have a hotel booked for a cheap overnight stay with a shower and breakfast. Not bad going, out channel tunnel was 6:40 this morning. Been driving since 2am and didn't get much sleep last night, there is a bar across the road. I think beer and bed.
Right techie problem..... my rear washer works but not my front! Stopped as soon as I got to France, any ideas?
Cheers
Stefan

They will be on different pumps buddy so my guess is that it's either a fuse a dodgy connection or pump failure due to that overpriced french waterstefan442 wrote:Just got to Troyes, we have a hotel booked for a cheap overnight stay with a shower and breakfast. Re: France driving report
I will leave it for now, I'll have a play around when I get to my camp site. Been raining most of the way so its not so bad, but I imagine the further south I get the more bugs are going to be splattered on my screen! Will have to make bug stops
cheers.
Are the motorways always this quiet? Or is it because its Sunday?

Been sat here and can't sleep so I thought I would find a nice pit stop for tomorrow about mid way, this place seems perfect. Chicken and a fresh baguette. Sorted.

Got here in one piece. I have done all the man setting up, now my missus can sort the rest out whilst I try some of the wine we picked up on the way. Found a little stall with fresh fruit and veg outside but more importantly full of wine inside.

Re: France driving report
I thought I had better check coolant levels before we go for a drive today, found the washer problem. The rubber pipe had got trapped when I checked coolant levels at the channel tunnel. All working fine and dandy now!

Weather looks nice! I love camping through France. I started in Normandy and worked my way through to Italy, tenting.
My best tip is to look at "unlisted in the guides" municiple and farmers' camp sites - frequently have the best locations and are quiet.

We are basing ourselves at one place. Camping les pin, les salles sur verdon. And we are going out most days to check out local villages and generally keeping busy.Dodgey wrote:Weather looks nice! I love camping through France. I started in Normandy and worked my way through to Italy, tenting.

on the way to Castellean, made the missus take a pic on the bongo!

View from Chapple castellane, Notre dame du roc.

We rented a pedalo and went down the Gorge du Verdon, Its the same river you can see in the Castellean pics, but its by the lake end. Castellean is only 40km away from our campsite but its a 90min drive round the twists and turns. Beautiful drive.
Plans are to go to Tourtour, Aups and St Tropez. Also i want to hire a kayak and go round the lake. Plus there is ample time to go for walks, swim in the lake. Local market is on every Thursday and they have a mini festival on Saturday. Want to find a nice vineyard at some point as well. The lady on reception mentioned a couple so i will go and get the addresses from her

Will upload more pics when i am too hot to sit outside, there is wifi on site but the connection is bad. It keeps losing connection every 20mins or so. I am hoping to find a pub that will be showing the football. But i am not very hopeful, will try and watch some of it though a proxy on the laptop! But due to the poor connection i don't fancy my chances. I might have to walk round the campsite with some wine and speak to all the people with satellite dishes outside their motor homes.
