Can anyone please help with information about a supplier for an ABS Sensor (front offside needs replacing). ABS warning light is on constantly and a diagnostic check (£45+VAT just for that!) has identified the fault, but local garage could not source a replacement. As a last resort I will try a Mazda dealership, but hopefully can find a cheaper option!
My location is near Southampton, Hampshire.
Thanks

Re: ABS sensor
I lost the ABS sensor from my nearside rear wheel when I hit a pothole near Stirling in February 2011. Allan's Vehicle Services in Devon found me one but I had to wait a while for it to be delivered from Japan as he was out of stock at the time. They are very expensive, mine set me back about £120.00. If you have any problems contacting Allan who often seems to be off the phone send a PM to his other half Doone who is a moderator on this forum.

Re: ABS sensor
be very very careful when trying to remove the old sensor from its mount as the bolts usually shear off, then the sensor body is another story.
maybe a better plan to swap the swivel with a second hand part with sensor already mounted.
good luck.
Re: ABS sensor
Hi,
I needed two new sensors for the front - at the time they were over £120 each! I got a couple of secondhand swivels/hubs from Bellhill (~£40 at the time) and they worked fine. Worth remembering though if you go down this route they wont gaurantee the abs sensors so could be a bit hit and miss - but you could get them to do a resistance test and compare to a known good one.
cheers,
Steve

Re: ABS sensor
Try Kevin at Southern Bongos (between North Baddesley and Eastleigh). He's got several breakers in at the moment. Take your tools along and he'll let you have a rummage. Alternatively, I know where there's a complete van for breaking near Hedge End. Drop me a pm and I'll try to dig up the chaps number.
