Engine info (alternator belt?)

Post by togger » Mon Aug 27, 2012 6:09 pm

Hey all, we bought our Bongo the other day and are going through trying to learn about it. My wife and I are both posting under this username and I'm not sure if she's already introduced us (apologies if not).

When we bought the Bongo, I checked the engine area and one of the belts was hanging off. Not knowing much about Bongos (or a huge amount about engines for that matter) I'm unsure which belt it is that I need to replace. It's attached to the alternator and is the one closest to the housing of the alternator. The Bongo drives beautifully but obviously I want to get another belt on there. Any pointers and also, any instructions on how to go about attaching the new belt?

Just joined up as a paid up member and have learnt in the members section that it's alternator belts and you need to replace both at the same time. :)

actually might pay to do all 3 as the a/c belt might be in a similar state

Thanks - I'll put an order in for the AC one too.
