Any campsites open in the winter for some sort of mini meet

If you are going away somewhere and don't mind meeting up with other Bongo owners or if you've been somewhere & want to tell us about it & stick up your photos, put the details here.

Post by M 80NGO » Sun Nov 18, 2012 6:30 pm

Rang emberton country park yesterday to see if they had pitches available for weekend camping during the winter as i really fancy doing an overnighter with some of my fellow Bongoliers, park up on saturday get the bbq,s out for tea then have a fire in the fire pit and a couple of ciders / beers etc but alas they don't do camping during the winter so do any of you nice people know of any campsites in the Cambs, Beds, lincs, midlands, herts, norfolk, suffolk area that are open with hookup during the winter months ?

Thanks, Peter.

Town Farm camping as Ian said is a fantastic place. Charles the Farmer there who also owns cottages has installed some leccy now and he promotes the use of open fires and back to nature camping. Also lovely walks around there.

We got there quite a lot. We asked Charles about a meet there and he said at the time he was happy to have meets there, we just never got around to organising one.

They have lovely fresh eggs too straight from the coup the next morning :)

We'd come and meet you if the dates work out for us. Although we've no longer got Tink so would have to make sure we didn't get stuck on the field..

Don't worry Cat, plenty of 4wd Bongos to help pull you out. :D
Take a torch, toilet roll, and tea bags.

We've got no weekends free in December and have the following in January
11 - 13th, and 18th - 20th

Have to promise to pull us out if we get stuck though..

This http://www.deersglade.co.uk/main-menu/tariffs-2012/ is also a great site and, if it's really cold, the toilet/shower blocks are heated 8)

Loads of sites open all year - just have a search on UK Camp Site. Here's a page for Cambridgeshire http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/resul ... =on&ehu=on
