The size difference is minimal but does mean you now have slightly lower gearing so I doubt if you are having to "press harder".

BUT the important thing to check is the "load index" - the number that comes after the 215/60-15 on the tyre sidewall.

On the front axle tyres that number should be at least 92, but on the rear axle tyres it should be at least 96.

If the garage have fitted anything with a load index lower than that the tyres are NOT really suitable and ought to be changed.

Hi
Is it 4 wheel drive or 2 wheel drive?...if it's 4 wheel drive, under no circumstances use a smaller tyre, or you would damage your transmission. If it's a reputable garage , they might POSSIBLY have had a look to see?
Cheers

I believe it is an MOT failure if you have different size tyres on the same axle, although different front to back is acceptable. You should minimise the difference in rolling circumference if 4WD as already mentioned.

If you need to buy a full size spare so you wont have to worry in future, I have a suitable one in the Small Ads section.
