Removing exhaust shutter valve

Post by coisty » Sat May 04, 2013 9:37 pm

I have recently fitted an eberspacher heater so I removed all the controls for the exhaust shutter valve located under the passenger seat. I will be needing a new exhaust system for its M.O.T in August so my questions are...
1. Can I just replace my 4 piece exhaust with a 3 piece one? i.e. are the hangers in the same position once fitted.
2. What size of gaskets do I need for turbo to front pipe, front to mid and mid to back? I have seen gaskets labelled 'small' and 'large'
1997 2.5TD Auto

Thanks Brian

p.s. I'll have an untested shutter valve free to anyone who can collect from Dumbarton area.

try this mate.
http://lushprojects.com/bongopartsmk2/c ... mgno=.html.

the gaskets look the same on both models.(same part numbers) if stuck you can reuse the existing gaskets, they are a ceramic disc, i have just covered them in exhaust assembly paste and reused.

as far as i can see you need the longer front pipe, from the turbo.

Cheers
I had already looked at the drawings and noticed that the gasket at the Turbo was labelled no1 and the other two were labelled no2 both same part number though.
