Brake warning light on
Hello folks
I'm in France avec le Bongo, and my brake warning light is glowing on the dashboard. I've checked brake fluid levels and its full, what else might it be?
Cheers
Simon

Re: Brake warning light on
I don't recall seeing brake wear sensors on the pads, but there could be some. When you press the button on top of the brake reservoir, does the float move up and down ok? Are the brake lights working correctly? Does the light change when the handbrake is engaged and released?
Re: Brake warning light on
Check the hand brake switch and the servo vacuum switch.

You can read fail code for ABS using ABS lamp.
1. Turn the ignition switch to "OFF".
2. Place a jumper between terminal "TBS" diagnostic connector and ground.
3. ABS warning lamp flashes on the count codes or connect a voltmeter to the negative terminal of the switch (set the measuring range 20 V) to the conclusion "FBS" diagnostic connector and the positive conclusion to the "+ B". Instead, you can use a voltmeter extra bulb at 12 volts.
4. Turn the ignition switch to "ON"
5. Deflection of the needle on the voltmeter or more outbreaks of lamps consider codes as shown in the figure.

Hi Simon - just sent you a PM with thoughts and a reminder about those trims. Enjoy your trip, red lights notwithstanding. Mikebarclay wrote:Hello folks

Re: Brake warning light on
I apologize. I thought about the ABS warning lamp and wrote how to find fault with this lamp is lit.
Brake warning lamp comes on at a low brake fluid level in the reservoir tank and an elevated parking brake lever. Check out these items.

Re: Brake warning light on
Take the top of fluid tank and turn it upside down and see if it puts out warning?

Re: Brake warning light on
My bongo has a flat brake fluid cap .... I have had the Brake light come on on hills with low pads....
Without looking as I'm on the road... there must be a sensor somewhere which will light up the warning light (thinking out loud with no access to diagrams)

Mine as a flat top cap .. there are wires going inside the reservoir but no external method of manually checking the switch or level ..
