Dead Speedo
Hi folks, My speedo seems to have packed in. Any idea how I might fix it?
Re: Dead Speedo
Does the vehicle run normally even if not indicating the speed ? The pulses that drive the speedo also feed onto the ECU and if those are missing the ECU won't be happy! If its just the indicated speed then it maybe the actual speedometer itself that is faulty, if the pulses aren't getting thru to the speedometer and ECU then it maybe the sensor that has stopped working.

If you have a MPH only speedo - one that goes to 180mph, you could try removing the kmh to mph chip behind the speedo as this may have gone.

Fuel gauge is usually a bad earth. Loads of threads on the matter already exist, but I just ran a new wire from the tank flange to the bodywork - a five minute job and saves stripping everything out to get to the flap in the floor.
