RX8's do go straight on, no spacers, or spigot rings.
Also mazda 3,5,6 wheels should go on as long as they are the later 5 stud models.

I had an RX8 for a while, I can tell you they fit but the imo were uncomfortable to use, I've got 17's now. They do look good though but as it was a company car they only stayed on for a day !

Mine rides a lot better on the RX8's, tyres may have a lot to do with the ride quality.

Totally agree with stuc, my RX8 wheels had 40's on when I purchased them and the ride was horrendous! But as they needed new tyres anyway the tyre fitter recommended 45's and told me I'd notice a big difference. I thought, 'yeah right' but he was totally on the money. The ride feels spot on now and it seems to handle better to me.

The back drop links seem to be knocking now, so off to sort another job out! :(

How do all you people running 17" and 18" rims get on with the insurance, have you all told your insurers you're running non-standard wheels & tyres. What happens after you've mown down a load of pedestrians and the accident investigation team see on the inside of the door jamb that the tyres on the vehicle are nothing like the tyres they're supposed to be?

Do all you RX8 people have tyres with the right load rating?

I would say my tyres fitted to the RX8 rims far exceed the quiality of standard fitment to the Bongo, 4wd models had 92s rated front and 96s rated rear which on the front is 630kg and 113 mph. Mine are xl 96w rated, 710kg and 168mph.

You may be in a minority there then, and those boots aren't cheap. The temptation is to go for the tyres that fit and are cheap, without being the right rating.

95w 690kgs on mine - I was tempted at the cheaper priced ones but after the short experience with the lower rated 40s which were fitted to the RX8 I'd recommend spending the money :D I didn't think £70 a corner was too bad though - but I maybe wrong - they do look pretty cool though.

95 is slower than the specified rear rating of 96 - might be worth checking with your insurance company, just in case they would use that as an excuse not to pay

Lifesure were happy when I told them about the 17" alloy wheels, as long as the tyres met, or exceeded, the load specifications.

I have 17" on mine with 55 tyres I think, I feel it drives better but its about 1" taller too so take care with barriers.
My insurance have no issue with it, but I am on a classic policy
