Lambda sensor 1999 V6 petrol running on LPG.
I spoke to a lambda specialist and he explained that my sensor readings were quite slow he would expect nearly instant response to throttle and some regular variation in the signal. My sensor took about 1.5 mins to settle between changes.
So I bought and fitted a universal 2 wire unit.
Immediately the engine feels more responsive and better on slow hills = first indications (500 miles) looks like mpg has improved.
I will report back in a week or two and let you know how it goes.
First feelings are that its worth the £48 and 20 mins to fit to give it a try.

Re: Lambda sensor UPDATE
Hi Roger, do you have the details of which one you fitted please? I've overhauled the ignition system on mine as part of converting to LPG, but am still getting incomplete combustion with occasional 'popping' sound of unburnt fuel on petrol & gas, so Lambda sensor is next on my list.

Re: Lambda sensor UPDATE
Excellent thanks. Ordered and will hopefully fit at the weekend and report back on my findings.
Re: Lambda sensor UPDATE
I've just filled up after 300 miles of assorted driving including 100miles in a hurry on the M6 and she turned in 22 mpg in place of the regular 17-18 before so good news!
