Possibly the linkage (down by your left foot) which controls where the heater actualy blows the air has come apart.

Does the knob which sends air to feet/demist/face vents feel loose?

This is a simple DIY fix, so fingers crossed.
Take a torch, toilet roll, and tea bags.

If the fan was working on all speeds beforehand, then you didn't need to buy new resistor. They only tend to fail when the motor bearing start to seize up. Is your aircon working correctly? If its not, then the windscreen demist function will not be so effective.

misting up can occur in these temperatures if you have the heater setting to recirculate - when misting begins reset to take air in!

To use the Demister requires that the air has the moisture removed from it, this requires that the Air Con system is actually working i.e. is cooling down the incoming air so that the moisture condenses out. If the Air Con system itself is not working then you won't be able to demist. Has the Air Con been refilled recently ? Can you get the air temperature down to very low temperatures normally ? If not then get the Air Con system overhauled you may find that there is no cooling going on at all!

Please note the Air Con and the blowers/heaters are NOT the same thing....

You can still demist the screen with just hot air .. but without a working air conditioning you cannot extract the moister from the air ..

On the digital system the fully working system is very efficient ... simply by pressing the middle left demist button that automatically .. puts the heater blower fans on .. directs the pre set temperature air to the screen and turns the AC on to de humidify (dry out) the interior ..

Different people have different preferences .. personally, I think it is better to initially dry out the air already in the vehicle .. rather than trying to dry out incoming moist air as well as what's already in the interior .. so I press the top left button in and recycle the interior air ..

Keeping the drain pipe on the scuttle panel clear will prevent water ingress to the motor which is usually the start of the problems, so it's easy to save yourself £65 (or £116 in the case of digital climate control).
