rear tailgate light

Post by pc13cb92 » Sun Nov 03, 2013 12:12 am

Hi,
where is the switch that operates the light (not the actual one on the light), the rear nearside interior when you open the tailgate?
Thanks

It's the catch mechanism that control the light. I'm not sure if it's a microswitch in the catch or just a simple contact such that when it engages with the U-shaped piece it completes the earth circuit. Either way, there would be wire passing thru the rubber tube up by the hinge, so if it's not working, you may have a break in that cable.

Just checked mine and there's definitely a microswitch in the catch fitted to the door.
