how to remove the bung from the bongo coolant bleed pipe?

Post by alvino » Thu Jan 02, 2014 11:42 pm

Hi Guys

Does anyone know the recommended way (or any way) to remove the metal bung from the bongo coolant bleed pipe? I want to bleed air from the cooling system using the 'see saw'method but I have failed at the first step by not being able to get the bung off the coolant bleed pipe? Any tips would be appreciated.

I have thought of cutting it off with a Stanley knife. Is this a bad idea? Will I be able to get the bung back in afterwards?

Cheers

remove clip then lift the end to the same height as the expansion tank level then get a pair of grips on the pipe and a pair of pliers on the bung and twist off.
or cut it off it will go back in the cut end ok.

A handy tool is a hose clamp so you can close the pipe off before removing and refitting the bung.
