2ltr petrol damp start problem

Post by DILLIGAF » Sat Feb 15, 2014 4:31 pm

my van runs great when its dry but it doesn't like the wet weather, i have dried all the electrics and sprayed with "WURTH ultra 2040" and it will be ok for a while, then just when you could least do without it, it refuses to start again until everything is dried out and sprayed again! any advice will be gratefully received.

Are you able to pinpoint which part of the system is causing the problem? On the V6 there is a seal under the dizzy cap which could be a weak point.

Thanks Simon, i will take a better look at that tomorrow and see if that is the problem, it's just having some dry weather to be able to get out there would be nice, i can't get the bongo in my garage where its dry to work on anything. If this weather keeps up i'll be fitting floats and a sail! all the best, Brian.
