What it is like on a river bank down south. Just up the road from me. The pub is closed yet again, more floods.

Not the weather for rural camp sites. Hard standing and made up roads needed.

This coming season is looking disastrous for the poor old camp site owners :( Some hydrologists are saying that, because the ground water levels are so high, it could be MONTHS before the flooding stops :roll: :shock:

The new Forest site means navigating the A27 which is still flooded in various parts

The flooded part of the A27 here is at Mansbridge outside Southampton. Its the road which was under water in my photo of the White Swan pub on my earlier post. This has been totally bypassed by the M27 for about 30 years and unless you are local you will not go near it. Its a narrow road with a low bridge and there are several signposted alternatives for anyone who does not fancy the motorway.

The A27 is flooded west of Brighton and has been flooded frequently near chichester

We ought to swap with the Northerners. Its a lot drier up there. They can take their usual slot and we can wait for some sun to dry us all out.

Classification has now been changed from "flooded" to "damp". As long as it doesn't rain too much over the next month, it should be OK.

Pah, not true Bob. A lot of us made it through 6ft drifts to get there and even bigger ones to get home. Michael (Lone Ranger) even did it towing a caravan. =D> Wearing SHORTS as well.

Not called TOUGH Northerners for nothing. :wink:

I work for a company in Banbury and a couple of years ago we had our Christmas do in Stratford, a mere 12 miles from Banbury. Guess who didn't get there, yep all the softies from Banbury and all us TOUGH northerners travelled upwards of 150 miles and made it. :lol:
Worked out well though because all us hard drinking northern folk ended up with double free booze. :D
