Will rx8 front seats fit my 96 Bongo?
And advise would be appreciated

RX8 Seats

Re: RX8 Seats
I very much doubt it, but someone may know better.
Sports car seats are designed for a very different position to truck seats.
I doubt the rails will fit either, but doubtless these could be modified, and your insurers would want to know.

Re: RX8 Seats
Mazda being Mazda and from what I've seen and heard I'd say they'll go in.
I have it on good authority that MX-5 seats go in.
I must say I've considered it myself especially as I have the steering wheel already.
But I really like the standard Bongo seats, I'm getting into the "Velour Wolf" as its known.
My advise would be to take a punt, get a set and if they don't work sell on you'll lose hardly anything or...
Get over to the RX8 forum, they are a good bunch and someone no doubt will let you give it a go if you prepared to buy if they fit.
+ side of the RX8 seats are that they look the nuts, are leather and if you're clever enough you could get the electrics working and have heated seats the lot.

Re: RX8 Seats
Hi guys,
I've just fitted a pair of RX8 front seats and they look awesome and are really comfortable. The seats have grey alcantara centres with black lumber supports.
They weren't the too hard to fit, but you must be prepared to do some work and be handy with your tools. In a nut shell, you remove the runners from the bottom of your bongo seats, re-bolt Bongo seat runners to the floor of the bongo. The runners of the RX89 seats then need to be attached to the runners of the bongo. They are wider than the Bongo one's, so you need two straight 5mm bars to go across and in-between the two sets of runners. It's not as straight forward as it reads, all the brackets need to be cut off the RX8 runners using an angle grinder. The seats sit approximately 2 inches higher than the Bongo ones, but unless you have legs that are only 2 feet in length, you should reach the pedals.
I'm trying to get some pictures uploaded but I'm a bit rubbish with computers. I've also fitted some RX8 alloys and lowering is the next stage.
