Roof problem

Post by stpn666 » Mon Jun 02, 2014 11:07 am

hi All
Hoping someone can help me with a roof problem, I raised the roof and all was well but when I went to lower it ,it would not lower I read the manual and to be honest the instruction to lower the roof was awful and complicated involving ropes ect.
I called the RAC and when he looked at it he did not have a clue but he had a go he used a tool which looked like a soldering iron attached to my battery he checked all the power all was well he then looked at the motors which raises and lowers the roof and he used this tool and the roof lowered.
The problem is that I do not wish to raise the roof now in case it happens again can anyone suggest what is wrong it has never done this before?

Cheers

Possibly your lock/cancel button? Other things that affect the system are the handbrake sensor and "park" gear selector sensor - ie you have to be in park with handbrake applied in order to move the roof (iirc).

Very good points. Is the OP aware of these?
