Re: Body shop in Bournemouth area

but If your stuck, I and several other Bongo's have had bodywork done here

If may be worth mentioning you can get the replacement arches from the club
otherwise they will use universal kits I believe.
cheers! party on dudes.

Re: Body shop in Bournemouth area
Hi There,
we just bought our first Bongo ('97 TDi)....2 days later, someone swerves off the road, through our garden wall and into the back of the vehicle: b***er!
the back door, and bumper need replacing for sure. All else looks fine
Does anybody know a body shop in the Bournemouth area? if it's just a case of the above panels/bits needing a straight swap out then i guess any good garage will do
Thanks Graham

Might be worth giving Al's Autos a try 01258 857713. They are in Sturminster Marshall so not too far away. Not sure how much body work they do but have been great with my Bongo.
Are we human, or are we campers?

Does your insurance company have a list of approved bodyshops in your area? You are free to pick any garage you like, but if you go with one recommended by your insurers, it will give you more clout in case of any problems.

hi Simon and BnB,
thanks for the tip! have been in contact with Alex (at Al's autos). apparently his missus has a Bongo, and he has a few customers so he knows Bongo a bit. He's given me a quote to give to the insurance company for assessment (or rather their vehicle rental company CCL in Ringwood).
**Annoyed** that CCL's delegated repair company 'vehicle repair network' wrote the bongo after i sent them a couple of photos showing the damage to the Bongo. They couldn't even be bothered to send someone out to visually assess the vehicle. i think that they put it in the 'too hard' basket after i said it was a '97 import. Al's quote was well below the 60-65% threshold of vehicle value they normally use for wrote-offs, so am waiting to hear back from CCL.
Now looking to get a 240V hook-up organised and some new alloys.....but perhaps i'll wait til the insurance comes through!
cheers

This is a little late for you - but mine is currently being repaired (from being slammed in the side and the guy drove off - sob) at Woodville Stretton in Poole. One of the guys who works there owns a Bongo apparently so after getting 3 quotes (all pretty much the same) I went with them. Hopefully they will do a good job - they have great reviews.
Keep Calm and Bongo On!
