V6 manual gearbox

Post by Ian65 » Sun Aug 03, 2014 12:56 pm

Just a thought, would it be possible to fit a manual to the v6. Obviously I would need the clutch, pedals gear linkage and cylinders. I suppose it depends also weather I can get a manual gearbox, or would a ford ranger box fit?

Possibly do-able but not without it's difficulties. The V6 was never supplied with a manual box and the Ranger was never fitted with the V6 engine so the biggest problem would be mating the parts together.

But...but...but...why would anyone want to chuck out that gorgeous autobox in favour of muscle aching clutch control and the loss of sandwich eating pleasure while driving    8)

Some people just want a lower top gear (yes the 5 speed manual has a lower final drive ration than the 4 speed auto) ? But with more in between....I guess
