Hi Baz, friends of ours are staying at Perran Sands in their caravan for the month of September for £140. We may well go down and visit them. See you at Caradon.

Re: Moving on from Looe
Sorry Baz - apart from it being miles from Norwich, I'm off to a local beer festival on the Friday
The Haven and Park Resorts prices are sensible again now - just looked at 5 nights at Park Resorts Breydon Water on 29th September for £21 and Park Resorts Kessingland for 5 nights on 19th October for £21 again. All are with EHU and full use of facilities - can't be bad for £4.20 per night
Most of the evening entertainment will have finished, which is often a blessing

No luck at the site i've booked then? Or didn't you fancy it? I know it's probably cheaper at Haven.

I didn't realise they were so cheap off season. May book a couple of weekends with the kids.
Re: Moving on from Looe
Weekends might be a bit dearer but plenty for kids. I avoid that bit like the plague.

It's in the Cool Camping book (one of them). £7 a night per person. Showers and toilets and view to die for.
I'll be there Sunday 14th for 6 nights.

Re: Moving on from Looe
Only managed one night at Maker. Had to come home early for the new dog (left at home). Managed to make the pubs in Kingsand in the evening and it was a beautiful sunset. The sunrise field was a tad windy so I stayed in the sunset field - only 2 other campers! My shower cost me £1.40 though! The Canteen was fantastic but was closing when I got there. Had a lovely cup of coffee and a piece of freshly baked cake.
Drove to Allan's for my service on the Monday, then stayed at Venn Farm, Brixton for one night before coming home. Free showers, sheltered but no views, and plenty of migrant workers (or so they seemed to be ) staying on the site. All drove off to work at 6am! The Foxhound Inn served me a beautiful pollock meal and the beer was lovely. Bob and Su would have approved.

We camped at Tudor Arms Campsite at Slimbridge.

Posher than we normally go to but we stayed on the overspill field which was perfect, I will send the links to Ian as it would be perfect for a Meet, and they had a rally on while we were there.
Four and a half mile walk down to Sharpness then stopped at Berkley Arms on the way back.
The Purton Hulks are worth a look, too.
