Heater Switch

Post by mcbainia » Tue Dec 16, 2014 7:24 am

Morning.

The heater-pointer switch in my Bongo appears to have died....The heating system works fine - you can get hot or cold air out and you have the option of off, 1, 2, 3 or 4 but the 3rd dial on the right hand side of the unit doesn't work. It goes around to all the different settings (Legs, face, Windscreen etc) but no matter what you do, the air blasts out of the face setting. This wasn't an issue during the summer months but now that there's an inch if ice on my windscreen, it's becoming rather tiresome.

Does anyone know anything about these units? Is it a whole new unit I need or is it just a dial?

Regards,

Craig

Have a look by the drivers feet there is a metal link that moves the heater position
Known the fall out break regually
Sure it's driver side but check both
Left of drivers feet

Cheers for that folks - saved me a trip to the garage!

Where is that photo taken from? Is it from the drivers foot well?

Yes kneel outside and look in towards the air box under the console between driver and passenger seats.

Mine pops out regularly, the restraining loop broken many moons ago

Can you not make a new one out of a coat hanger
Bend loops on the end to stop it popping out
