simon jones is yer man on this one, he seems to have the original options catalogue for the bongo, or he married a geisha girl or sumat.
ive seen references to head lights that switch off when in a traffic queue then auto switch back on when the traffic in front moves off but ive not seen this on a bongo.
maybe your just special.

ref headlight switch: I had one of these fitted to my Bongo , couldn't work out at first what it did until I went for my MOT upon collection I was told she had FAILED

.
So why,? the answer was you have a short on your head lights , When they go on the Main Beam they short to dipped (now Confused) it was all ok this morning , tested everything before I took it in .
What this little rocker switch (factory fitted )did was to dip your head light when you came up behind a stationary vehicle.
When the Mechanic had the Bongo in the garage he was testing the lights Close up to the work bench ,so the head lights automatically Dipped . Very Polite these Japanese

.
Moved the Bongo onto the forecourt and tested again , hey presto all worked fine .
This wasn't the first time this garage and this fitter had done the MOT on my Bongo it was just that the switch was turned on to operate this sequence this time.
So be aware if you fined one of these little rocker switches under your steering wheel or somewhere else on the dash.
Hope this helps someone.
