Rear fog light (V6)
Any ideas on what bulb number/ wattage/ size / bayonet or wedge fitting, is needed to replace/ convert a rear clear reverse light bulb into a legal red fog light in the rear drivers side cluster (on a new shape 2002 V6 Aero Bongo - so red tape doesn't have to be stuck over it on the outside!). Any advice would be helpful. thanks.

Re: Rear fog light (V6)
Hi,
Fog light bulbs are 21w so that they are bright enough to be more visible through fog. Importer wanted to do the same as your intending to do on my 2001, but I wasn't convinced that the reversing light cluster would actually give the correct type of light dispersal. So fitted traditional style after market fog as wanted to make sure if used in foggy condition it was going to do the job.
Cheers

Re: Rear fog light (V6)
Hi, thanks for all your swift help and answers to the fog light bulb solution!
After a bit more research, I think the original clear reversing bulb is possibly a 12V 18W 10mm wedge fitting type in the new shape bongos, like Simon pictured. However, I can't seem to find any red bulbs anywhere that would fit this spec, apart from a 20W 9mm wedge capless bulb which I guess may fit & do the job if it doesn't blow the fuse as it's 2w more? So, I guess my options are; try the bulb (see if fuse blows); paint the current clear reverse bulb with Shellac glass paint (worried about flaking); put up with the red tape (looks naff?); or put a new dedicated fog light in as suggested (but this would mean re-wiring)?! mmm... decisions!

I think you'll be fine with a 21W bulb as it draws 1.75A as opposed to 1.5A for 18W. I imagine the fuse will be at least 5A so there's plenty spare. If you do find a suitable red one, please post details on the forum as I'll get one as a spare. Thx
