Black alloy wheels for a Purple Bongo.....
Anyone running black alloys on their Bongo?
I'm looking for pointers for wheels that are not 'too spokey' in this I mean the spokes of the wheels are quite thick like Minilite wheels on the good old Austin Mini..... BUT flat and not curved in the face .... (Mrs B's shopping list)
I have 15" wheels on at present (the stock steel ones) and would like to stick to 15"'s
Are Mazda 626's the same PCD and inset/offset?
Cheers y'all!

Re: Black alloy wheels for a Purple Bongo.....
you would want to check the load ratings of the 626 wheels first as a bongo is heavier than a car, even the rx8 wheels are known to crack.

Yep,
Black RX8's been on a while now
Trick is to use the right tyres, and not run on the standard 225 that are already fitted.
Go with 245/45/18 or 235/50/18.

This site appears to list wheels appropriate for a Mazda MPV .... 15 x 6.5" but we run wider tyres on the back but think the wheels are all the same
assuming the PCD is the same and the offset/inset is no different

Hi
I've bought a couple of sets from these folk: http://www.alloywheels.com/ They have been more than helpful, and will suggest which models are correctly rated for weight. From memory, you want 590 (Kg) weight rating stamped on the wheels. Quite a few aftermarket wheels are higher rating than a few years back, as they can then supply a wheel which fits a wider range of vehicles. They all tend to come with a larger centre bore and the company supply spigot rings for your vehicle. I have 2 sets of alloys for summer and winter tyres for the Bongo...one in anthracite and the other anthracite and polished alloy. I run 2 sets for the Jeep, one with all season tyres, and the other winter tyres, but, frankly, the all seasons are pretty good in anything. I don't buy second hand alloys because you will never know if there is an inherent crack inside, because even a slight sideways shunt can damage an alloy, or hitting a pothole, and alloys are not good in a side shunt. I did enquire about getting custom wheels turned by a specialist, and they are VERY highly weight rated for van use, and the price was around £1000.00 and rather tempting, but that was polished alloy solid centres
Cheers
Helen

Hi
Rather nice!...I had thought of 5 spoke for one set, but for the roads over here, the smaller spoke wheels are a bit stronger...namely that they spread the load and we have pretty crabby roads compared to the UK
Cheers

There not a bad price doctor
I'm not an alloy fan
But I do like the look of black ones ( and white ones remind me of rally cars )
And you should be able to keep one of your old steel wheels as a same size spare
Is the weight ratio acceptable ?
They will look nice

I prefer the first pic you put up in Matt black ( but then I'm not a fan of shiny things )
And I like the little line detail
And I see there even cheaper
