Smelly Bongo

Post by sotal » Sat Jun 11, 2016 9:27 pm

We'd been away for a week in the Bongo (just over a week ago) and ever since coming home the Bongo has smelt of sweaty arm pits!

We've tried to locate the source of the smell but it was as strong in the back as the front, we've taken just about everything out, we've sprayed de-odourising sprays on all the fabrics. If we drove the Bongo with the windows open then the smell would just about go but when the Bongo was left sealed up it stank when you got back in.

So after trying sprays of air freshener and thinking we must have left a sweaty smell behind, I eventually found the cause today!

It was one of those 'magic tree' air freshener dangily things - my wife had put it in a few days before we went away - it had smelt quite nice over the holiday but for some reason it seems to have gone off and it stinks!

Not sure if it has absorbed smells from 5 people + a dog or if it has gone off with the heat, or just gone off?

Just thought I'd mention it in case anyone else gets the same issue!

We now have a lovely smelling Bongo again!

Thank goodness you found it. :)

As the weather has been very hot, have you had your a/c on ??

The a/c can give off a sweaty smell, although the experiences Ive had have been more of a sweaty sock smell.

Cured by a tip from MikeonB4C.......Dettol sprayed into the intake. (Think its bacterier on the filters)
