What is the prv bypass valve and is it known to cause problems?

Hi Dave, several things can cause this problem, the bypass/pressure regulating vale balance valve are just some of the names for the pressure control valve (I should have said that in the first instance)

This pump uses carbon blades that can split/stick etc it could even be a faulty drive gear, you really need the Fluid Pressures to determine where to look.
