Rear seats

Post by Ckell1 » Thu Jun 30, 2016 9:30 pm

Hi everyone!
We have just picked up our bongo tonight so please bare with me if what I'm about to ask sounds simple!
The rear seats.... Is there a nack to getting these completely flat so they can be used as a bed? We have put all the seats back but it looks really lumpy!
I'm pretty sure we need some sort of mattress to go on top but just worried that even with this it will be to lumpy to lay on?
Also can anyone recommend where to buy a mattress? Or if even this is the best option?

Thanks in advance!

Hi, and welcome to the Forum. :D

When the seats are made into a bed they are actualy not too bad, you seem to fit the lumps and bumps reasonably well.

That said I have cut down 4 of those foam gardening mats you get in Poundland/Wilkinsons and the like, idealy a couple of the double size ones and 2 normal ones to fill the concave bits.

For more comfort lots of peeps use a piece of Memory Foam or the self inflating camping mats from Argos/Lidl/Go Outdoors.

Of course the larger the mattress the more comfy but the more space it takes up.

We found sleeping on the fronts and middles works well and leaves space at the back to change and keep a loo.

Hope that helps.
Take a torch, toilet roll, and tea bags.

With the bench seat fully reclined, pull the leaver at the side of the seat where the back hinges and press the centre down. Reduces one of the bumps. Works with the split bench, have not tried it with the rear bench (which is buried in the garage!)

You can buy mattresses especially made for the Bongo that will give a great night's sleep. I did try to sleep once without a mattress but it was hell. I find using the front and mid seats (with Bongo mattresses) the best set up for us.

In some pictures, the driver and passenger seats appear to be flat - is this on all models? Also, where can a mattress for the seats be purchased please? (Comfortz leisure site doesn't seem to want to load the bit about that).

I remember somebody also saying that you can turn the head rests round so they are flat or flatter, but I can't do that on mine, as the posts aren't in the middle (2004 model)

Many thanks, Kate
