I would be interested if any Bongo owners who have LPG conversions could post images or descriptions of where the tank is situated, filler points,capacities,manufacturer etc please. If in the spare wheel location- where does the spare wheel go?

I suggest you use an UKLPG certified converter as close to where you live as possible as it is more convenient for servicing / lap top tune ups if they are local .. and the conversion is automatically entered onto the UKLPG data base for insurance purposes ..
LPG tank fits where the spare wheel fitted so that may be a problem ... I suggest to go for the biggest size that will fit .. I can get 75 litres in mine (@43p a litre) ..
Some carry an aerosol puncture kit for emergency punctures in tyre treads..

Some still like to carry a spare inside .. or on a BakRak ..

Mine is a Romano fully sequential LPG system .. it's always been 100% OK .. (an observation .. not a recommendation) ..

Some say you do not need it .. but I had Flash lube fitted as it acts as an upper cylinder lubricant to help the valves and seats ..

For easier topping up I suggest you have the container under the front bonnet ..(Like my Toyota) ..

and not in the engine bay like my Bongo ... (Blue cap .. bottom right) ..

LPG filler cap tends to be in the plastic bumper .. I had mine fitted to the tow bar though .. (Black cap far right) ..

The one recommendation I would advise is to get the ignition system 100% OK .. (new plugs / leads / dizzy cap / rotor) as it as a direct bearing on the efficiency of running on LPG .. I use 'normal' NGK spark plugs (not Iridium) as they are so cheap / simple / child's job to replace .. I also close the cap from 1.1 mm to 1mm ..

As always a great source of Bongo images. A pictures worth etc etc.
I am not converting to run engine on gas. I am looking to have an underfloor gas tank for cooking heating etc.
The spare wheel carrier images are brill thanks.

Couple of interesting points ..
Strangely .. although LPG powered vehicles cannot use the Channel tunnel .. 'normal' fueled vehicles with LPG cookers / heating can ..
Maybe the gas conversion will have to be fitted / certified by some one like UKLPG for insurance 'modified' purposes though .. ??

Just tried a quick search under Bak Rak.
Couldn't find one specifically for spare wheel carrier.

Are you really going to use that much gas in a campervan that it would warrant having a large LPG tank fitted? If you have a good look under the van you may find enough room to have a small cylinder type tank fitted. When I worked at Brownhills Motor Homes I would often see small motor homes fitted with cylindrical tanks. This would mean you could retain your spare. Do a search on the internet & I'm sure you will find examples of sizes & types of tanks available.

I am buying a van with lpg. It doesn't have flash lube, is this something I can retrofit, would you recommend it?

Dunno about the ECU controlled electronic systems .. but I have had cheapo Vacuum operated flash lube on three of my LPG motors fitted by the installers ..
Looking at the instructions they seems quite easy to retrofit ..
I tweak mine occasionally (with the brass knurled knob) to one drip every 12 seconds .. You can see one droplet just forming in the sight glass ..
