Sliding door sidestep

Hello All, I am going to replace the carpet in the back of Bertie, and need to remove the plastic sidestep by the sliding door.
Is this just clipped into place and can be prised off or are there any screws to undo?
I would be most grateful for any advice.

Just lift it upwards, forcefully. It makes an awful sound but it comes off ok.
